THE NEXT PRESENTATION

Hello Everybody.

In my presentation I will talk about the Poster designer, Graphic designer, and the artist Waldo González Hervé.

In the first part, I will talk about his life and studies:

He was born on Santiago, the date of his born is unknown. He studied Medicine in the Mayor of San Simón University on Cochabamba (Bolivia) but he deserted the career for economics issue. In 1954 He joined into the School of applied arts, where he performed as Poster designer assistant between in 1958 and 1959. At 1960, he was the first graduated in visual arts with mention in poster and propaganda of Universidad de Chile.

Before that, i will explain the context of his creations in the Popular Union and the University reform.

As graphic designer He worked fundamentally in the rescue of local traditional and the correlation of the popular Education between 1971 and 1973 principally in the Salvador Allende Period. During this period, he makes 80 posters to Chilean Polla of Benefits. The Polla propaganda was direct to the puberty section of the population, for the noticeable social accent.

And finally the techinc aspect of his posters in composition, colors, figures:

He characterized in the experimental spirit. that led him to work with “unusual materials”. At typography level, he makes fonts in by hand. The figures of mother and children, farmer, employees, students and women was the iconographic type in his posters. He used high contrast to praise the figures, where the small zone, was always in hot gamma.
